After two days of judging, InStyler Professional's Dean Banowetz helped crown Whitney Wood "Miss Idaho 2012." The beauty event, which included 20 contestants, was held at Swayne Auditorium on the campus of Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho.
The pageant is part of the Miss America organization, which is renowned for providing scholarship assistance to women. After being crowned, Wood will compete in the Miss America pageant, which will be held in January 2013.
Banowetz, who also serves as a judge for the NAHA Awards, certainly has much experience with prestigious pageants. He has previously crowned Miss Iowa, Miss Maine, Miss Kona Coffee and Miss Aloha Hawaii.
"I am very aware that I am giving someone what could be a life-changing opportunity," says Banowetz. "Through judging, I get to meet some very talented and intelligent young ladies who make a point to contribute to their communities. It's very inspiring!"
