A morning of beauty at Angelo David Salon

Just above the hustle and bustle of New York City's Grand Central Station Terminal area is Angelo David Salon-a chic, modern space that offers a full menu of beauty services such as expert cuts and colors, couture extensions and beyond. I was invited to experience some of the salon's expert services, so on June 19 I set out for my morning of beauty. After a steamy, crowded subway ride and trek through the morning frenzy that typically surrounds the Grand Central area, I entered the quiet building that houses this stylish salon. An elevator ushered me up to a serene space where a trio of beauty experts were awaiting my arrival. After welcoming me and assuring that I was comfortable, I experienced my first service-an eyebrow tinting and shaping by eyebrow stylist Julie Tussey. "There is a resurgence of the bold, fuller brow trend because people are now embracing the more natural look," says Tussey. "I treat eyebrows like a pair of wings-I use them to open up the eyes and face."
Next I headed to stylist Ivan Andre Torres's chair where he worked his color magic. When it comes to color, Torres believes in the "less is more" approach. He used a natural glazing process and then blew my wavy locks straight, and polished off my look with the Angelo David Zero Frizz Control to lock in the smoothness. After the service, my hair was super shiny and the color was very natural, which is exactly what I wanted. In between my color and blow out, nail technician Marjana Kyerkuti, polished my nails a pale pink color that I thought would be ideal for celebrating the onset of summer.
While at Angelo David Salon, I also had the pleasure of touring the entire salon space, including the work area and private consultation rooms. Prior to leaving, I also had an opportunity to meet Angelo David Pisacreta. We spoke about the customized couture hair extensions and additions. "Not one type of extension fits all," says Pisacreta. "Different women have different needs, so it's important to create hair extensions that perfectly suit their needs. I consider myself the Vera Wang of extensions. One can opt to choose something off the rack, but for special occasions, they may want to invest in something custom created to last a long time."
